Nomenclature and Structure of Amides

NOMENCLATURE

Acid amides .are named by replacing the suffix ic acid of common name or oic acid of JUPAC name of the corresponding acid with the suffix amide. Some examples are given below:

The general formula of amides is R-C – NH2
